Buying a New RVIf you’re in the market for an RV, chances are you’re mulling over whether it’s best to buy new or used. While the draw of a brand new RV certainly has its charms, a used RV can also offer its share of benefits. We’ll break those down for you here:

Buying a New RV

Buying a new RV has some obvious benefits; for one, you know the trailers history because, well, you’re it! A new RV has the same benefits you get when buying a new car: it’s clean and likely comes equipped with the latest features. Additionally, because you’re getting a new RV, you’re unlikely to have major issues and fewer problems in general. This, of course, could make your next road trip a bit more reliable.

Another thing to consider when looking at new RVs is the fact that many come with pretty stellar manufacturer’s warranties. This safeguards you from paying for problems or issues that could be pretty expensive.

When buying a new RV, you won’t worry about how the previous owner treated it – or didn’t treat it. For example, if the previous owner never performed routine maintenance or winterized the RV, you could suffer the effects down the line.

Buying a Used RV

Obviously, the biggest draw to buying a used RV comes in the price tag. When you purchase a used RV, you’re essentially letting someone else pay the depreciation that inevitably comes with it. If you shop right, you can save a bundle by buying used. But that’s not the only benefit.

When you buy used, you still can take advantage of many of the benefits of buying new. For example, you may be able to find a late-model RV with all the features and goodies you’re looking for, without paying top dollar for them. And if the trailer is newer, it likely still comes with a partial warranty in place.
