MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – Jayco, Inc. has named Wagner's RV Center, Suamico, Wisconsin and Wagner's Trailer Sales, Cleveland, Wisconsin recipients of the company's annual Founders' Award for 2005. The award is presented to a Jayco dealer whose ownership and management consistently reflects a dedication to outstanding sales and customer support, and which most embodies the spirit of the founders of Jayco.
Leonard and Julie Wagner, second-generation owners of the dealerships, along with founders Earl and Mary Lou Wagner, accepted the award on behalf of the two family-owned dealerships.
In making the announcement, Derald Bontrager, Jayco's president and chief operating officer said, “Year in and year out, Wagner's RV dealerships rank among our top ten in sales volume and market share. Throughout all the years of growth, this dealer has remained a family-run, family-focused enterprise and we are proud to be able to call them our partners.” Wagner's Trailer Sales and Wagner's RV Center were named to Jayco's prestigious Gold Circle in 1991 and have continued as Gold Circle dealers every year since.
The Wagners' business started literally at their home. In 1967, Earl and Mary Lou Wagner started Wagner Trailer Sales by selling folding camping trailers in their small front yard in Michicot , Wisconsin . They became Jayco dealers in 1975. In addition to the Founder's Award, Jayco has recently recognized Wagner's Trailer Sales with a 30 th Anniversary Award.
Leonard and Julie joined the business on a part time basis in 1981 and eight years later opened the family's second retail camping location, called Wagner's RV Center, in Suamico, Wisconsin. Other family members include brother, Ralph Wagner who joined the company in 1990 and brother-in-law, Geno Kopetsky who joined the company in 1994.
In 2000, Leonard and Julie moved Wagner's Trailer Sales to a new facility at its current location on I-43 in Cleveland , Wisconsin .
In addition to the Founder's Award and the 30th Anniversary Award, Jayco cited Wagner's as the company's fourth largest dealer in worldwide towable RV sales for 2005.
